What's in a name?

Paulo -- We spent a lot of time deciding what to name this little boy. Todd had read a book by Paulo Coelho on our first trip to Guatemala and thought it was a good fit. Paulo means Small, Humble. We will guide Paulo to walk humbly like our example of Christ.

David -- Nicole suggested carrying on a name from her family and thought it would be honoring to her father to use his middle name David. David means Beloved from the Hebrew. We will love Paulo unconditionally as a beloved gift from God.

Mario -- We both learned during our Adoption Home Study the importance of an adopted child's identity. We both agreed that we should carry Mario over from his given name. Mario means Warlike. We will teach Paulo the ways of a warrior so that he is prepared to confront evil with justice.
